A blessing and a curse.

Kherington is passed the glorious days of regular napping, so when she crashes in the late afternoon, I am always torn....do I wake her up and deal with the nasties that will follow, but know that she gets to go to bed early? Or do I let her sleep and enjoy an hour of quiet (she is two, after all!), but then deal with her refusing to go to bed at bedtime???

Either way, seeing her sleeping so peacefully was a simple moment in our home this week. (And for the record, on this day, I did let her sleep...who am I kidding, I probably went to sleep, too. Heehee!)

DIY: Lavender Heating Pads

Hey, Everyone!

Popping in today to share a super easy DIY project! For Christmas this year, my sister-in-law's and I decided to do a handmade gift exchange. It had to be super cheap and totally handmade, so of course, I turned to Pinterest! (heehee)

I came across this pin, and since it was like, December 22nd or 23rd, I knew I needed something really simple! These adorable heating pads were very easy to make. Trust me. If I can make them, anyone can! I am not a seamstress by any sense of the word, but if you can sew a straight line, then you're good to go!

I made my heating pads following this tutorial from Elm Street Life, but I only sewed 1 seam down the middle instead of 3...like I said, simple people, simple! I filled my heating pads with rice and then scented them with Lavender essential oil. I love them!! They turned out so so cute and I use mine all the time. I am always cold at bedtime so I love heating one of these babies up before bed and they smell so good! All the fabric I used were scraps I had on hand...since I started these at about 10pm, I had no other option, heehee!

So there ya go...a simple little gift idea for any occasion. Have fun!!!

Well, my brand new Photo-a-Day Blog is up and running and ready for your viewing pleasure! I've been busy busy on my computer since last night getting it all set up and ready to go...I've already had so much fun going through all the pictures I've taken this month so far. I can't believe that this is my third year taking my daily photos...it truly has become such a normal part of our daily lives, I can't imagine that I'll be stopping this anytime soon.

Some of you may be wondering what the heck I'm talking about, and where this "photo a day" or "project 365" idea came from. The master-mind behind this whole concept is Becky Higgins and you can learn all about it here. Whether you want to take a photo every single day, or just get all those old photos into albums, she's come up with a concept that can work for everyone. She's created and designed gorgeous "Project Life" products that can work for you and whatever approach you want to take.

Personally, I have taken the "daily photo" approach. I know that this really scares some people and they don't know how it is possible, but here's the thing: if you want to do it, just do it. Taking pictures every single day has made me so much more aware of my little family and all of the simple and mundane things we do everyday. These are the moments that define us and make us who we are. Not only the big moments, like birthdays and dance recitals, but the everyday moments, like naps and potty-training and dr's appointments and owie's, etc, etc, etc. Taking these photos is totally possible, you just have to get into the habit of doing it. One thing that has made my whole approach easier and more do-able is my iphone. My phone is always with me, so I always have a way of taking a quick snapshot here and there...it is often those little snapshots that are my favorites!

So if you're on the fence about this whole "Project Life" business, I say...do it. You will never regret having taken pictures of your family and your life. :)

I'm almost done my 2011 album, and it is so amazing to see a year's worth of memories all put together in our gorgeous album. The kids love it, and we have so much fun looking back on our pictures, and just seeing how things have changed over the year. So many memories captured. :)

Oh, man...I really hate getting so behind on my blog!! The past few weeks have just been so full that I haven't had much time to do any catching up. So I'm here now, ready to do a little catchin' up.

Christmas was busy and wonderful. Crew was adorable on his very first Christmas, and his big sisters couldn't get enough of his cuteness...neither could mommy and daddy! We spent time with both of our family's, and did lots of eating, visiting and playing...it was perfect! The holidays were spent skating, skiing, playing with cousins, going to movies, sleeping in, being lazy, shopping, going out to eat, visiting with freinds and playing some more. Graham spent a day snowboarding in the mountains, and I spent a day shopping all by myself, so we all had our own fun! Most importantly we were so happy to celebrate our Savior's birth as a little family. I love Christmastime so much...it's always a little sad once all the fun and celebrating is over. But we had such a nice break from the daily routine as a family, and we absolutely felt renewed and ready to go for the new year.

Speaking of the new year...Happy 2012!! I always love this time of year to start fresh and reflect on the past year and plan for the upcoming one...I managed to finish my photo-a-day for 2011 and I've been having soooo much fun filling my Project Life album with photos and memories from the past year. I will absolutely share photos of my finished album when I'm all done, I'm still working on all my journaling. But I love it.

And yes, I will definitely be doing my photo-a-day project for 2012!! I've already been taking my daily photos, and I'll let you all know as soon as I have my new blog up and running. Stay tuned for that!! (and just a note...I thought it would be fun to have a list of other photo-a-day blogs in my sidebar for quick access and inspiration...so if you have a 365 blog that you'd like to share with everyone, send me your name and link to your blog!)

Crew is now 8 months old and I have lots of new pictures to share of him...but I'll save that for another post. I also have a fun, pinterest-inspired DIY project to share, so that will be coming soon, too!

Thanks for popping in to my little blog. I know that I've really fallen off the bloggin-train...I used to be dedicated and good and my life has just been turned upside-down by all my kids! Hee hee...in a good way, of course. I try to tell myself that my time will come again when I am more free and able to create and share...until then, I just do what I can do! That's what I love about taking my daily photos...I feel like by sharing our daily life I'm in a way, letting you all know what we're up to. With the new year, I was thinking of goals and resolutions...and to be honest, the one thought that kept coming to me (and is actually quite fitting for me at this point in my life) is letting go. Letting go of ridiculous expectations that I set for myself. Letting go of expectations that I think others have of me. Letting go of the idea that my house needs to be perfect and clean all the time. Letting go of the idea that I can do it all. And instead...just focusing on being here. Being here for my kids. My family. My friends. Myself. I just want to be better at enjoying the moment, and not worrying about all the other things that will inevitably always be there!! So how's that for a resolution?? (heehee)

payton is 7!!!

Today was Payton's 7th birthday...seven!!! I can't even believe I've been a mom for that long and that this gorgeous little girl is growing up before my eyes. She is our "first" for everything that comes along with children...and she makes learning the ropes of parenthood pretty darn easy and fun! (for the most part...heehee.) We couldn't have been blessed with a more amazing daughter...Payton brightens up our lives in every possible way. From her sensitive heart to her spunky spirit, she just pretty much rocks. We love her oh, so much!!!

We had a little family party for her at home today and she made "Beliebers" out of all of us! Heehee!!!

If you read my blog at all you know I hate making cakes...it isn't the baking part it's the decorating part...I have no idea how to do it! But my husband informed me that Payton had to have a cake for her party and NOT cupcakes, so this was the best I could do! For a simple little cake I thought it turned out pretty cute and Payton thought it was hilairious...she did a lot of giggling today!

I perfectly remember when Payton came into our lives seven years ago...she was due on Christmas day and I was determined NOT to have a Christmas baby so we were very happy when she came a week early! I just remember being in total heaven that first Christmas with my new baby girl...we have come a long way since then, but in the same breath, she will always be my baby.

Another Simple Things Sunday.

I stayed home from church with Crew and Kherington today because they've both been running temperatures and have those yucky coughs that just won't go away. It was early evening when I plopped Crew on the floor next to me while I was folding laundry, and after folding exactly 2 shirts, I had to run and get my camera.

Because I couldn't resist my chubby little dude playing with his toys. His sudden fascination with this yellow spoon. His chubby belly, and perfect squishable cheeks. His hair, which was looking oh, so cool at that moment. The Star Wars onesie and striped socks. The sound of him blabbering that melted my heart.

*sigh*

A simple moment today that I'm so glad I didn't miss.

Just a little peek at the Christmas decor around our home this year...

We decorated on Monday night and the girls were beyond excited to get all the Christmas stuff out. We kept it really simple this year, and I love how it turned out. I added some turquoise to the red ornaments we already had, and I decided this year to have the "kids tree" upstairs. Up until now I've always put the kids homemade and fun ornaments on the big tree, but it was getting to be too much...so I opted for the 2nd tree this year and I'm loving it so far. And so are the kiddies...colored lights and fun ornaments...what could be better?

We are very excited for Christmas to come and I still can't believe that it is December 1st already. Still sooooo much to do in this busy month, but at least I've got a start! Christmas cards are ready for me to send off, I've got a good start on my shopping, the decorations are up...it is going to be a fun month.

diy: oversized photo collage

Hey, everyone!

Hope you're all having a great Monday and today I have a fun little (or maybe I should I say BIG?) diy project to share. Introducing my oversized photo collage. Ever since I pinned this on Pinterest, it was one project I knew I HAD to do. I bought this big frame at Ikea and it sat empty on my landing upstairs for 2 months at least! (I know...pathetic!) I just couldn't commit to what photos I wanted to use and where I wanted to put it...so I did nothing. Which is lame.

A couple weeks ago I got the urge at about 10 o'clock one night to go ahead and do my collage, and this is what I ended up with. And needless to say, I love it soooooooo much!!! I carefully chose each photo (a few older ones, the rest new) and printed them all on my printer. They're all about 8x10" in size. Then putting the collage together was a little like a puzzle...I moved the pictures around until it looked just right. Then I just adhered the photos to the large photo mat that came with the frame and I was done!

I was originally planning on hanging it down in my scrapbook room, but I ended up loving it so much that I couldn't put it down there for no one to see! So I hung it in our front hallway and like I said....LOVE!

I still want to hang something else above it, maybe a word with some of my cute wood letters that I haven't used yet since we moved, so we'll see...for now, I'm glad I just finished a project! Heehee!

And here's one last little look so you can get an idea of how big it is...my 5 year old standing behind it.

Well, it's that time of year again!! The kids have been very excited about their costumes, so here we go!!!!

(sorry for all the pictures, I just couldn't help myself!!!)

Hermione, a couple funky witches and the cutest little skeleton. We kept it pretty simple this year by re-using our cute witch costumes from a couple years ago, some sleepers for Crew and a borrowed cape for Payton. They always turn out so cute, though! As stressful as Halloween can be with all the candy and dressing up for a million different things...I sure do like the pictures in the end, heehee! It seems like we're lucking out with the weather this year, too...no rain or snow, so that's a bonus! (Trick-or-treating isn't for sissy's here in Canada....we're used to bundling up, haha!)

So we got the girls all ready for their Halloween parties at school today and then it's pumpkin carving and trick-or-treating tonight. Over the weekend we've already been on the rides at West Ed in our costumes, the church Halloween party, and dressed up for dancing, soooo....never a dull moment around here! (Oh, and let's not forget about the few trips to the hospital due to Crew's infected little eye...aaahhh! Thank goodness he's doing better now, but he was looking and feeling pretty rough all weekend. Poor baby!)

Just some snapshots of my little Crewie from earlier this week.

I can't believe he is 5 and a half months old. You are pregnant for so long and then these babies grow up and change so darn quickly!

He is such a good little baby, and as with any new addition you have in your family, we honestly couldn't imagine life without him! He's been sick for a while now with a cold, and then he woke up this morning with a puffy eye, so I think we'll be heading to the doctor's soon...of course this is all happening right before Halloween when we have a crazy weekend ahead of us!

Life has been so busy. So much to blog about, and then week after week just passes me by. Aaaaahhh! I DO have a fun and simple home decor project (thank you, Pinterest!) that I want to share soon, and of course I'll be back with Halloween pictures of the kiddos.

Whew!

I am all caught up on my photo-a-day blog...come and see!

It was alot of work, but it's always so worth it to see all of these daily photos come together. I love this project! I can't believe that this year is quickly coming to an end...seriously, where oh where does the time go?

I'm excited for the weekend...the girls are starting their dance classes and I have a photography course that I'm taking, so I'm looking forward to that.

gabby's popcorn & movie party!

A little peek at Gabby's "Movie & Popcorn" birthday party....

(plastic popcorn containers are from the dollar store and I made the banners using some of my old House of 3 digital kits!)

Yes, she turned 5 back in July. But, it was summer and it's always hard to plan parties with friends when everyone's away on holidays. So we did her party and few weeks ago and it was such a hit! All of her friends came over in their jammies and we had pizza, pop, popcorn and treats! Everyone got a little purse with "money" in it and they had to line up at the concession stand to pay for their treats, tickets and popcorn. Then they went downstairs to the "movie theatre" where thet saw the debut of "Barbie and The Princess Charm School". Honestly, the girls had soooooo much fun! We'll be doing this again for sure!!

Another "simple things" photo from this past week....

Part of my night-time routine is packing lunches for the girls. This just made me happy the other night as I popped in a little note for Payton...I love that she can read and that half-way through her day she can be reminded that I love her and to meet me at our special "meeting spot" after school.

And in case you haven't looked for a while, I recently added some more photos to my photo-a-day blog. Yes, I'm still doin' it! I still take a picture everyday, I just haven't stayed on top of posting them...I can't believe how quickly this year is coming to an end!!

Even though I am on a "maternity leave" right now from my little photography business, it's still nice to get out now and then and take pictures of my family. I got these shots of my niece and nephew the other night and I loooove them! As much as I love shooting my own kids, it's fun to switch things up a bit sometimes. And seriously, when these teens are as cute as they are (Kennedy would NOT like me saying that...haha!) they made my job very easy!

My sister and I had fun being stupid to make them laugh...I'm sure we were driving them nuts! I love these 2 crazies, and I can't believe how old they are getting! Kennedy is 17 and Winter is almost 15...I still think of them as little kids.

A few days before school started we went out and took some family pictures and I am soooo glad we did! It is always so much work, stress and effort, but so worth it in the end. It was a collaborative effort between Kim and I....thank you so much for "shooting" us, Kimmy! I'm sure she had a good laugh at all of us...the kids were running around like crazy and Kherington was quite hard to contain, but we still got some shots that I love!

I gotta say, it was weird being in front of the camera rather than behind it...I had so many ideas and in my head I pictured exactly how I wanted the shoot to go. And of course I pretty much had to blow everything out the window when we got there 'cause just getting everyone all situated and looking at the camera was quite the task!! Haha!! So we just went with the flow as much as we could, and now I have a bunch of pictures of my crazy little family that I absolutely cherish.

hello, school.

Well, here we go again!

The girls both had their first day of school yesterday and they couldn't have been more excited. They had their outfits all picked out by Wednesday morning, and they had been counting down the days till school started for over a week. So needless to say, they were ready to go!!

I can't believe Payton is in grade 2 already! She lost her other front tooth the night before school started, and I think she just look so cute with those missing teeth in her smile! Losing baby teeth is kind of momentous, ya know? She's always been my little girl, but looking at these photos now, she seems all grown up. It's scary how quickly time goes by!

I popped into her classroom with her quickly, but she didn't need me at all...she was so excited to back with her friends. I was so proud of her!!!

And my little Gabby started kindergarten!!! She has been waiting for this day for such a long time!

She was soooo cute in her class and I am beyond thrilled with her teacher and classmates. She was a little apprehensive at first, but once they got to "playing", she was good to go! A little peek at some of their activities...

Gabby just melts my heart! Again, I was just so proud of her and excited for her...the house will feel very empty on weekday mornings with her away...she is usually attached to me, so this year will be an adjustment for us both. :)

Oh, and let's not forget about KK...

She thought she was going to school, too. (wink)

All in all, it was a great day and the girls are happy, so I'm happy. Here's to yet another school year!!!

Let's just say that summer is going by way too quickly, so all that blogging I was planning on doing has been put on the back burner. Sheesh! Ah, well...school starts for the girls in just over a week, so I'm planning on jam-packing as much into these last few days of summer as I can!

Happy Birthday to the sweetest little 5 year old I know!!!

It is so hard to believe that 5 years have come and gone since we had our sweet little Gabby. There is never a dull moment when she's around and without her our family would be incomplete. We love this little munchkin so much...I wish she would stop growing up on us! She is so beyond excited to be starting kindergarten in the fall...I will be crying on the first day of school for sure. (heehee)

For reals??? 2 months old already? (he's actually even a tad older than that, but who's counting?) It really isn't fair. While I am looking forward to sleeping through the night at some point, I am not looking forward to this little babe of mine growing up. (wink) The big girls were out on a playdate this morning and after banishing Kherington to the top bunk, I managed to take a few quick pictures of my sweet Crew.

I can't believe how quickly time is flying by and how big my little man is getting! He is just too sweet for words.

I have been so behind on my project 365 photos, but I've been working on them all week and I am finally all caught up! Whew! So if you want to see what we've been up to for the past couple months, go and take a look.

I truly am such a believer in this photo-a-day concept. It's just such a perfect snapshot of our lives right here, right now. Things that I know would otherwise be forgotten if I hadn't taken the time to quickly pull out my camera or iphone. It just makes me so happy to see all of these memories come to life through our family photos.

photo album scrapbooks

If you're anything like me, then you have piles and piles of photos in boxes, waiting to be used. I've recently been unpacking my scrapbook stuff and I couldn't believe the amount of photos I've accumulated over the years....holy cow! I knew I had to something with them, and fast. Today was another rainy day around here, so it was the perfect opportunity for the girls to make their own "photo album scrapbooks" while Kherington and Crew slept. They had so much fun!

We started off with empty 4x6 photo albums (I got these ones at Superstore) and I just spread out a ton of pictures on the table and let the girls use whatever ones they wanted in their albums.

They both spent 2 full hours on these this afternoon! I was so impressed...they carefully put each and every photo in themselves and it was so fun for me to watch them look through the pictures and laugh and remember...it was awesome. Payton decided to embellish hers a little bit with stickers, while Gabby decided to keep hers plain. Whatever they wanted.

And just like that, 200 pictures are now out of a box and in an album, ready to be enjoyed.

Needless to say, life with 4 kids can get a little hectic at times, so I always appreciate when I get some help. Gabby loves to be my helper and is always willing to "take care of Crew" for me. She loves to pat his back, hold the soother in his mouth and give him kisses and cuddles. She's helping me out and making my heart melt all at the same time.

crew's baby announcements

One thing I've always loved doing is baby announcements. These were Crew's. Simple and fun. I also did up a coordinating little thank-you card for all those people who were sweet enough to give us gifts. We've been so spoiled! The announcement is 5x7" and the thank you card is 4x6" and I just wrote personal messages on the back. I had them printed at Costco and loved how they turned out! A few (well, a bunch) of snapshots from our first month with Crew. I can't believe how quickly time has flown since he got here...it really isn't fair. Pregnant fro 9 whole months, and then bam, your baby is 6 weeks old already. Sheesh! Anyone who has been there, though, knows how busy life with a newborn is. Never a dull moment, that's for sure!

A few things about Crew in his first month:

he is super cute. (duh)

he loooves to eat. (he's the best eater of all my babies!)

because of all that eating he's a little porker...he's already 9 pounds!

the girls love love love him...I always have lots of help.

he loves to be held...he always prefers to be held rather than being in his swing or crib.

he's spoiled. (heehee)

kherington calls him "Baby Coo".

he eats at least once during the night.

his daddy loves him like crazy...they will be partners in crime, for sure!

he has 18 cousins.

he sleeps in a laundry basket at night beside my bed.

he has the loudest cry. for reals. (if you've heard it, you know what I'm talkin' about.)

he's probably my most demanding baby...he keeps me busy!

he melts our hearts over and over again.

My sweet little boy at 5 days old.

Now, I have to say, being the photographer and the mama makes getting newborn photos somewhat difficult. You'd think it would be the opposite, but being the one that has to do the setting up, the feedings, actually taking the photos, plus taking care of the other 3 kids on top of that...well, you get the picture. It's easier said than done, that's for sure! When I saw this image on Pinterest (I know, I know...Pinterest again!) I was inspired to take some simple, real photos of my gorgeous little babe. And I am so glad I did.

To me, these photos perfectly capture Crew as the tiny, curled up, and perfect little newborn that he is. I'm still going to try to take some more "professional" shots, but I know these will be some of my faves. His cute little faces. His curled up hands and feet. His all-around "new-ness". I just love my little guy so much. I'm so glad I took those 15 minutes to capture these shots.

Just a quick share tonight.

When I saw this image on Pinterest, I knew that I HAD to do this with Crew. I just think it totally puts into perspective the reality of what the body can do...that there really is a little human inside of us those 9 months! It truly is a miracle.

And thank you so much for all the sweet comments on the baby's room. You guys sure do know how to make a girl feel good! Thank you thank you thank you.

Now, off to feed the baby....again. (Still adjusting to this constant feeding thing! Good thing he's so cute!)

kk and crew's room

Well, here it is...Kherington and Crew's little room. I had so much fun putting this room together and finished it and took these pictures last Tuesday morning...just in time, since I went into labour on Tuesday night! (nothin' like putting it off till the last minute!!) Anyways, for such a tiny room I had to keep it simple, but I think the fabrics and colors make it fun...I was totally inspired by all the grays and yellows I was seeing online, and thought that would be a fun color combo for a boy/girl room...take a look!

This little Pooh bear was a gift from my dad and has been in all my babies rooms.

KK's bed...she LOVES her bed! Naptimes and bedtimes are quite easy around here! All of the fabulous bedding was made by my mama. We went out shopping together and picked out fabrics, I told her what I kinda wanted, then she sewed everything up. I looooove how everything turned out!!

Love this pillow!

*sigh*....the ruffles.

I'll be adding a picture of KK and Crew together above the change table, and I made the "I am a Child of God" print in Photoshop. Again, I'd seen alot of these online and just created my own. I made the little elephant shadowbox using scrapbook paper and this cute elephant template. Oh, and the fabulous knobs on the dresser are all from Anthropoligie.

Of course that empty frame will be filled with an adorable picture of Crew...

And, the yellow crib. I love it! (am I saying that alot?) I wasn't sure if the yellow would be too much, but after having a pink crib for 2 years, what's the big deal to switch to bright yellow, right? These clouds were in KK's nursery, and I have a big "C" on order that will go above the crib, too. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to make/add a mobile for above the crib or not...we'll see!

The gorgeous quilt and bumper pads made by my mom. Again, just loving the yellows and grays!

A few more close-ups...the "you make me happy when skies are gray" was another one I created in Photoshop. I love this quote 'cause my grandpa used to sing me this song when I was little. :)

And there ya have it! I'll still be adding a couple things here and there, but just getting the room this far before Crew was born was a huge accomplishment! It's tiny but functional for my 2 little babes...thanks for taking a peek!

I can't believe it has been almost a week already since we welcomed our little guy into this world. We have all been totally and completely consumed by him...we just can't get enough!! My labour and delivery went really smoothly...in my last post I shared that "coming soon" picture...it turns out Crew was born exactly 12 hours after that picture was taken. I started having contractions around 9:15pm on Tuesday night while watching "Glee" (heehee) and we were at the hospital by 11pm. I was already 6 cm dilated, so they gave me the epidural by 11:30pm and he was born just after 1 in the morning. I was soooo relieved that it was all done and over with and that I didn't have to be in labour all night long...thank you for making it so easy, Crew!!

So now we are home and adjusting to life as a family of 6. His big sisters cannot get enough of him and daddy is pretty darn happy to have another boy in this house. I am just so very grateful to have my sweet little baby boy home, safe and sound. He is the best and life is good.

Now...off to attempt to get dressed! (wink)

I am tired. I am in pain. I am wanting to meet this baby already! Trying not to be a grump, but seriously, that's really hard. (hee hee)

The baby's room is almost done and it's looking super-cute...I'll share pictures as soon as I'm up to it. Until then, I'll be here waiting!

...at what's in the works for Kherington and the baby's room.

I'm excited to see how it all comes together. And I have to say, decorating a room with no pink is just plain weird. (heehee!) I'm trying to find a balance between girl and boy stuff...it's hard, so hopefully it'll turn out cute! I'm hoping to get the room mostly put together this weekend, but we'll see. Ideally I'd love to have it all done before baby comes, but that may be wishful thinking these days! Life is busy busy busy as we're getting closer to the end of the school/dance year and of course, just trying to prepare for baby in general. But my mom's been busy sewing and hopefully Graham will be busy painting this weekend...fingers crossed!

And when is baby boy coming, you ask? Well, my hope is SOON...like, within the next couple weeks soon. I don't even know if I can wait that long, I'm basically just an uncomfortable grump these days...just ask my husband. (wink)

So for me, we're officially on Baby Watch. Wish me luck!!

Okay, where oh, where do I begin when it comes to my crazy- cute 2 year old? Let's start off by saying she's full of spunk, sass and life. This girl always has us laughing and is developing quite the personality. While she's shy with people at first, once she warms up there's no stopping her personality and cuteness. We are learning that she loooooves to sing and dance. She sings "twinkle twinkle little star" in her own language on a daily basis...at the top of her lungs and with actions and all. She loves the movie "Tangled" and sings along with it, too...it is so funny. I think sometimes Graham and I forget that she's getting a little older...she's been our baby for 2 years and it's hard to believe those days will soon be coming to an end! We just recently moved her into her "big girl bed" and she has done so well...she thinks it's funny to come to her door with all of her pillows and blankets, but it's usually pretty easy to get her right back into bed. Oh, and she loves all of her baby-dolls...she is always carting one around. And she's very particular when it comes to tucking them in at night...everything has to be just so before she goes to sleep. Again...she's so funny! While 2 can be a challenging age, it certainly makes up for it in cuteness.

We just love our little princess. Her big sisters are totally enamoured with her, as are mommy and daddy. I don't think there is anything in the world that melts a parents heart more than hearing their little ones say "mama" and "daddy" clear as a bell...she definately has daddy wrapped around her little finger! Honestly, I could go on and on...she just brings so much happiness to our family, I don't know what we would do without her! I can't wait to see her be a big sister to her "boy baby" as she calls him...we love you, KK. *mwah*!!!

easy easter decor

I thought I would share our "Easy Easter Decor" that we have in our home this year. It's amazing how decorating your kitchen table and hanging a cute little banner is just enough to bring a holiday into your home.

(tablecloth-Target, eggs-Superstore, turquoise vase and small bowls-Anthropoligie)

Like I said, I kept things super easy and simple. Bought some tulips from the grocery store and put them in a jar. Filled some cute vases with that fun fake grass and some store-bought easter eggs. Put it all together with a springy tablecloth and we're good to go!

I also made this adorable little "bunny bums" banner. I saw this banner floating around on Pinterest and knew that I had to make one of my own.

I simply drew my own bunny shape, cut them out of cute coordinating papers, glued some cotton balls as the bunny tails, and strung them all together with a ribbon. Done! I actually made these bunnies with my girls, too, but didn't take a picture of the process. They had fun tracing and cutting their bunnies from white cardstock, and then they went to town decorating their bunnies with stickers and felt markers. Kherington especially loved gluing the tails on her bunnies...a great little project for even the youngest kiddos!

So there ya go! A couple easy ideas that you can still do before Easter comes this weekend.

Now onto my #2...Gabriella Mae.

Once again, where oh, where to begin with this little munchkin? Gabby is now 4 and a half years old and is a little firecracker to say the least. Oh, don't let those cute looks fool ya! She is our stinker, but we sure do love her to bits. This little one has a mind of her own and usually wants to do things HER way...but she makes up for it by equally sweet (when she is in the mood...heehee!).

Gabby looooooves to be cuddled and loved, and she loves to cuddle us in return! She could honestly sit in my arms all day if I would let her...she is very content being held. She's learning her alphabet and still has cute ways of pronouncing words...I don't have the heart to correct her most of the time 'cause it's just too darn cute. Being in the middle 'aint always easy...but she sure does love her sisters. She looks up to Payton so much and looks after KK like any good big sister does. She loves dancing, riding her bike, getting "boy toys" from McDonald's, playing with flashlights and her latest obsession is Disney's "Tangled." She is funny, sweet, silly and LOUD...we're still trying to teach her what "whispering" is, haha! She melts our hearts when she says the sweetest little prayers every night before bedtime on her own...she never forgets to thank Heavenly Father "for her family and that the baby will come out of mommy's tummy soon." She has been such a blessing to me during this pregnancy...I have been soooo tired in the afternoons, and she is honestly AMAZING when Kherington goes down for her naps. She knows that it is "quiet time" and just plays and entertains herself all afternoon long...allowing me to rest, too! (wink) I have been so very lucky...at such a young age, she has managed to be very patient with her mama.

She is our perfect mix of sweet and sassy. While she definitely keeps us on our toes, she is always the first person to say "I love you"....and she says it alot.

We love you, too, crazy girl.

I am back. I am attempting to blog. I promised more pictures of the kids from last weekend, so here I am! As you can see I recently gave my blog a little makeover...it was long overdue and much needed, I just couldn't decide what to do so I was always putting it off. Anyways, I may still tweak a few things here and there, but I'm happy with it...I just needed to simplify, clean and freshen things up a bit! As part of my "makeover" I've been going through old posts and labelling them to make navigating and finding posts on certain subjects a bit easier...for you and for myself! (if you look on the sidebar near the bottom, you'll see a "labels" section where you can click on different subjects) As I was going through old posts, I realized how much I looooove the simple and personal posts about my children. This blog serves many purposes for me...it's fun, it's a creative outlet, it's a way to share photography, scrapbooking, decorating and DIY ideas...but for me, most importantly, it's a record and a journal. I am so grateful for all that I have recorded over the last few years...big things and little things alike. So, with baby coming in about in a month, I thought it would be fitting to do a separate post on each of my girlies as big changes are about to come in our little family.

So, here we go.

Here is my gorgeous girl at 6 years old. There are so many things to say about her, where do I even begin? Payton has grown up soooo much in the past little while! While she is still a little girl who loves to play with her dolls, she has become so responsible and such a good helper to me. Honestly, I don't know what I would do without her! With all of my kids still being in car seats, she is the only one who can get in and out of the car totally on her own, she can be dropped off at school without needing to be walked to her door and she can actually help me with Kherington and little things that need to be done here and there. The other day we went through the drive-thru for supper, and parked the car to pass out the food...Payton was right there for me passing the girls their drinks and meals, talking in her little mothering voice...I was honestly so grateful. It seems like such a simple act, but the fact that I didn't have to get out of the car and do it myself...it just meant alot to me. (remember...I'm 8 and a half months pregnant!)

She has learned so much in grade 1 this year...she is already reading chapter books and is so bright. She's taking piano from her auntie, and I am honestly amazed at how quickly and easily she has picked it up! I hope she sticks with it...one of my biggest regrets is quitting the piano, so I am determined that one of my kids will play! Heehee! She is our one child who actually listens to us and obeys us...heehee! And feels bad if she thinks she's done something wrong...the other ones aren't quite there yet! (wink) Oh, and she's my perfect little model when it comes to taking pictures...I could photograph her forever...always so willing and cooperative!

All around, Payton is just simply a blessing in our family. She is confident, funny, and oh, yes she can be bossy (she IS the oldest, you know...) but we couldn't live without her. I remember being pregnant with her and just LONGING for her. She has most certainly fulfilled and exceeded all of our expectations in a daughter.

Okay, I'm really not excited to share these, so let's just get this over with! On Saturday morning, I quickly had my hubby snap some pictures of me...here I am at 33 weeks. We kept it simple as I tried to get some pictures of the girls, too, and well, you know...getting everyone ready and happy is no easy task! And as soon as I got in front of the camera I realized that I really didn't want my picture taken at all...but we got a few and now I can say that maternity photos for moi are officially done!

And my favorite...

...me and my girls. It is so hard to believe that in a month or so we'll have another little baby around here. And not just a baby...a BOY baby! What??? I still have that fear that it's going to be a girl after all the cute boy stuff I've bought...so we'll see! Hee hee! (wouldn't that be a good story to tell!)

It's crazy to think that I'm nearing the end of this pregnancy. It's been a roller-coaster ride from the beginning, but when all is said and done, I just hope and pray for a happy and healthy baby. (boy OR girl...wink!) I'm feeling him kick kick kick as I type, and I'm just reminded what a miracle this whole process is...that after all the sickness, worry, tiredness, discomfort, etc, etc, etc...it's the reward at the end that makes it all worth it. I'm so lucky and blessed and I just hope I can DO this...I can do this, right? (heehee)

Anyways, enough from me. I'll share photos that I took of the girls soon. Like I said, it was no easy task...everyone was crying at some point. Oh, good times!!

Payton learned how to ski for the very first time this past weekend and loved it so much! I need to give my kids more credit...I thought for sure she would hate it and that it would be too hard, etc, etc, etc....but she couldn't get enough of it. She and Daddy went out to the ski hill and I'm told she learned in no time. Now, everyday she's asking us if we can go skiing...fun, fun!

happy birthday, kk!

Well, I don't know how she managed it, but somehow our little bug decided to go ahead and turn 2 years old on us today! We had a busy day planned....first, it was off to West Edmonton Mall to go on the rides. KK's favorite thing, though, was playing in the balls and going down the slide all by herself...she could have done that for hours! Oh, and she's managed to perfect avoiding the camera...I had a heck of time taking pictures of her today!

After the rides we headed home for a nap and then we had the family over for a little party. I kept things simple (as usual!) and fun. I got this cupcake wrapping paper at Walmart and just went with it. I always love doing birthdays around here!

Okay, and these little flower cupcake thingy's are just making me too happy. If you don't have any Martha Stewart Fringe Scissors yet, then you need to go and get some! And Heidi just did a little how-to on her webshow on how to make these flowers. (She explains how in about the last 5 minutes of the video.) I am seriously so in love with these things! Heehee!

And of course she opened presents...

Happy Birthday, sweet girl! I can't believe that she will be my baby for only 2 more months...is she really going to a big sister? Even though she's officially a terrible-two-er, she just makes us so happy! She is always making us laugh and is just full of sweetness and mischief. We love her sooooooooo much!!!

Although it seems like I have dropped off the face of the planet, I am in fact, still here. See, that's the trouble with blogging...once you get out of the habit, it can be very hard to get started again!! Sure I am busy...but when it comes to the ole' blog, I've been more stuck on what to blog about, rather than not having the time.

Soooo...with all that being said, I thought I'd just do a quick little update as to what the heck has been going on around here.

Valentine's Day was lots of fun. The girls were thrilled to make and receive valentine's from their friends, and we kept busy at home with lots of crafts, baking and cupcake decorating. We even finished off the night by telling eachother things we loved about each person. It was wonderful. :)

I am so ready for Spring. January and February just seemed to drag on forever...anyone else? I am happy that it's March and that we are finally at the end of this winter season. I can't wait for some warmer weather!

We've been finishing our basement and it's almost done...and that includes my scrapbook room! I cannot even begin to explain how excited I am to get my room all set up and unpacked. I have missed creating and playing like you wouldn't believe...it is so time for me to get crafty again.

And along with my room in the basement comes the kids play area as well. They already have all their toys down there, and after a few more finishing touches we'll get everything all organized and cute and ready to play with. When we moved in I didn't think it would be a big deal at all to not have a basement, but man, have I missed that space!! It will be soooo nice when it's all done!

As for the rest of my house, we've kind of been waiting on the basement being done to get everything else done and decorated. Most of my home decor has been packed away down there, so it'll be fun to get it all out and find a home for everything. It's about time!!

I'm still pregnant. (heehee) I am almost 30 weeks, so we're just getting closer and closer to meeting our little boy. It's still hard to believe that we're actually having a boy, but I am soooo excited. I can't wait to meet him and hold him and snuggle him...I love newborns. (sigh) While being pregnant is not my favorite thing, I am so grateful that all has gone smoothly and I know how lucky I am. I tell myself this daily as the pounds keep adding up and up and up!

I haven't decided yet on what exactly I'm doing for KK and the baby's room, but we have managed to collect a lot of baby boy clothes. It has been so much fun shopping for a boy! I've done the girl thing 3 times (plus, I still get to buy for them!), so I've had no issues at all with shopping in the boys section. A nice change!

This past weekend my hubby and I went on a little getaway to Montana, just us. It was soooo needed and soooo nice! My mom watched the girls and we were so grateful. There's something about having a couple days on your own with no schedule and no one to take care of that gives you the energy you need to keep going. We shopped, ate, napped, went to movies and ate some more. It was fabulous. And when it was all done I was itching to get home and see the girls...funny how that works. :)

So as you can see, life has been plugging away as normal. We are good, happy, busy, content. I can't wait to share more as I get my scrapbook room finished and get going on some more creative projects. Stay tuned!!!

It's done! All of my project 365 pictures from 2010 have a happy home in this gorgeous album. I love it soooo much!

I have to say, I am so glad that I kept up with this project last year, and that I'm doing it this year, too. (i still have to create a new 365 blog for 2011...it's coming, I promise!) I really feel like I accomplished something now that all of my pictures are in one place...not bad for someone who hasn't scrapbooked in almost a year, hey? I am torn between purchasing another project life kit right away for my 2011 pictures, or waiting until the end of the year like I did for this one. I loved being able to put the whole together at once...so we'll see.

For now, we are enjoying this one and I'm having fun taking my pictures every day. It's definately become more of a habit now and my whole family is used to the camera being out all the time.

Yes, Payton's 6th Birthday came and went in December, but we had a little birthday party for her over the weekend, so just thought I'd share some pictures from the day. We went with an owl theme after Payton saw my niece's adorable owl cake pops at her birthday a couple weeks ago. It turned out super cute and was so much fun!

We painted nails, painted faces, colored, cut, glittered and glued...all the things that little girls love to do! I have to say, while it can be exhausting at times, I am loving that the girls have enetered the "crafting" age...it is so fun to see them create and play, and man, it keeps them busy for hours!

My sister made the adorable cake pops and I managed to throw together everything else. It was so refreshing to have some little projects to work on in preparation for the party...the tissue pom poms, the booklets, the banner...it was just nice to make cute stuff.

And the afternoon nap once the party was over was pretty nice, too. (wink)

Okay, so it has been waaaaay too long since I've posted anything cute/pretty/fun on the old blog! So, without further ado, introducing....my photo wall!

I've been wanting to do this since the day we moved in, and after living in this house for 5 whole months, I finally got around to it last night. I only have my husband to thank for it! He basically told me last night that "he's sick of staring at these empty frames leaning against the wall"...and so off to work we went. Thanks for getting my butt into gear, babe!

At first I wasn't really sure what pictures I wanted to use, but I definitely wanted to use color, so I went with pictures from this shoot back in the summer. My hope is that we'll get family photos this summer with all 4 kids, and Gray and I as well, so these will do until then! We hung the frames using this method by Becky Higgins, and it worked out sooooo well. Almost no fighting while we worked! (hee hee! Come on, we all know that we fight with our husbands when hanging stuff on walls...it's inevitable!) The frames are from Ikea and the size of the pictures are 11.5"x11.5". I printed all of the photos on my printer, and now that all is said and done....I love it!

And now the next project on the never-ending list of house projects is finishing the basement. Wish me luck!

Wow! 1.1.2011! What an awesome day!

I can hardly believe it's a new year already! Seriously...where did 2010 go? I have to say, it was quite a crazy year, but every moment was memorable and worth it. Over the last few days I've been finishing up my Project 365, and I've gotten quite sentimental looking through all my family's photos from this past year...while taking a photo every single day wasn't always easy at times, it was soooooo worth it, and I'm so glad we made it to the end! My husband was an awesome motivator and support of this project, and he's actually the one that convinced me to do it again for 2011...so stay tuned for a brand new Project 365 blog...I am excited!! Until then, I hope you'll take a couple minuted to browse through our families photos...I considered doing up a slideshow or collage of some of my favorite pictures, but in the spirit of keeping things simple, I just thought you could hop on over instead.

So, now my hope is to get all those photos into this here little kit. I haven't done any form of scrapbooking in ages, so my hands are itching to get going on this. I can't wait!

On another note, our Christmas was wonderful and busy and fun. We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with just the 5 of us, and while it was different from what we usually do every year, it was so much fun and just as special. The girls were just soooo excited about everything, and yes, they were very spoiled by Santa...lots of fun memories. After that we headed out of town to spend the next few days with Graham's family and once again...the kids were spoiled and we all just had a blast. There's nothin' like hanging out with cousins and family and good food...LOTS of good food! (heehee)

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and here's to a new year!

Wow.

Another month gone by with almost no blogging. Yikes. My husband even suggested to me the other day that I update my blog because it's been so long. What is happening to me? Well, I'll ya. It's called being pregnant. (haha)

Before I go any further, thank you soooooo much to everyone for all of your sweet comments and words of encouragement! It's been an overwhelming couple of months to say the least, so it was nice to read through all of your congratulations. Thank you! Some days it feels totally normal that I'm pregnant, and then other days I still have those moments of, "What?!!?? Is this really happening??" It has been a crazy time. Pregnancy is not my favorite thing. Now, when I say that, it doesn't mean I'm not grateful...I know there are many out there who would give anything to be pregnant...it is just a really hard time for me. Constantly being sick takes it's toll...and I've especially felt the weight of that this time around while trying to take care of 3 little ones as well as myself. Let's just say that my husband is a lifesaver and the most patient guy ever!! He does way more than his fair share around here, so we are very very lucky girls!! We've had many a laugh about our situation right now...sometimes it's just easier to laugh about it all!

While browsing through the blogging world yesterday while KK was sleeping, I came across this amazing video. You must watch it....it made me cry, I admit. I've been so focused on getting through being sick and just asking myself the constant question, "Can I really take care of 4 children?" that I needed to be reminded of the absolute miracle that having a baby is. I loved all of my hospital experiances and remember the birth of each of my daughters perfectly. It is hard to believe that we'll be having another baby in May, but after watching that video and looking at these pictures of my own precious little newborns, it is giving me something to look forward to.

What a miracle these little babies are. Need I say more?

Happy Halloween from the Audenart Girls!

We've had a busy few days with dressing up at dancing, school parties, carving pumpkins, Trunk-or-Treating and more. Lots and lots of fun, but....this mama is glad it's all over! Haha! Kept it simple this year with store-bought costumes and a little glitter for their "make-up"...they couldn't have been happier!

(And what is "Trunk-or-Treating" you ask? Since Halloween fell on a Sunday this year, our church had a "Trunk or Treat" last night...everyone parks their cars in the church parking lot, opens their trunk, and the kids can go quickly and safely from trunk to trunk, trick-or-treating! It was so fun and easy...tons of people were there, people dressed up and decorated their trunks, there was hot chocolate to drink...I think we should do it every year!)

Rather than me complaining about how crazy life is, and how busy we've been, etc, etc, etc...I'm just going to pop in and say hello. I'm still here. And I honestly can't tell you why I haven't blogged in almost a month! Out of practice, I guess.

Life is crazy and good. I was so happy to be reminded this morning in conference to keep life as simple as possible, and to spend more TIME with those we love. I think I'll do just that.

project 365...whew

Holy cow...after being 3 months behind, I've finally gotten caught up on my Project 365 blog. So go on over and take a peek!

I have to admit, I was almost ready to throw in the towel with this over the summer. I got so caught up in all the crazy stuff going in our life that I just kind of...gave up. I totally had days of taking no pictures. And lots of pictures were taken with my point and shoot that just make me cringe when I look at them. I've had to fill in pictures here and there for days that I missed...but they are still our memories, no matter what day they were taken on. After all was said and done, I decided it was worth it to keep it up. Our simple memories are far more important than the quality of the photos. So keep that in mind when you're browsing through my pics. (wink)

Now let's just hope I don't get 3 months behind again. (heehee)

gabby's first day!

On Wednesday, it was back to school for this lil' cutie, too. She was sooooo cute and sooooo excited to get back to playschool. This year she gets to go for 3 mornings a week, so she is feeling very much like a "big girl". And let me tell ya, for a little sister that has to watch her big sister go to school everyday, her first day of school was a very big day, indeed.

And once we got to school, this little bug wasn't going to be left out! No way, man!

We are slowly to adjusting to the "new normal" that is school, schedules, bedtimes and lessons. I am liking it and not liking it...we really needed some routine and structure after a crazy summer and moving homes, but I sure do miss our lazy days! Ah, well.

My kids are happy and that's all that matters.

Okay, in an attempt to blog more often, I thought I'd share these pictures of the girls riding their bikes one evening last week. Payton is now riding her two-wheeler all on her own, so that is a very big deal in our house these days! Gabby thought that she was ready, too, but after a half hour of daddy basically pushing her around...the training wheels went back on. We convinced her that it was much more fun to go super-fast then to have daddy holding her up. Lucky for us, she was okay with that!

And KK was just plain cute...running after the girls, thinkin' she's just like them but having no clue she wasn't on a bike of her own. Next year, sweetie.

So, today was the big day.

Payton had her first day of grade one. And she loved it. She was just so happy and excited and ready to GO. Can't you tell?

I am just so in love and so proud of this little girl. She is growing up so fast! Last night was spent getting her all polished up and ready for today...and I knew it would happen and I totally broke down before bedtime when I was hugging her goodnight. The tears came and I couldn't stop...I literally replayed her little life in my mind, and I was desperate for her to be a baby again so I could just cuddle and hold her forever. I felt so bad 'cause she started crying 'cause I was crying and then we were all laughing 'cause we were all crying...anyways...I think I will always want my kids to stop growing up, but it doesn't mean that I'm not excited for each and every thing they accomplish and do. Today was an awesome day and a new beginning for Payton.

The school year has officially begun.

Well tomorrow's September 1st and the first day of school, so I thought I should do a quick little re-cap of our summer. It was such a good summer. I can hardly believe that it's already over and tomorrow we are back to normal, with my oldest going to into grade one...but that is a post that will be coming soon. (wink)

Let's enjoy summer for just a few more minutes, shall we? This summer we...

1.Moved out of our house 2.We had afternoon picnic's in our temporary backyard at Nana's 3.We took some cute pictures 4.We made yummy cookies 5.We went to Fort Edmonton Park 6.We celebrated this 'lil cutie's 4th birthday 7.We drove to Montana... 8.And made our annual stop at the Temple (and then DQ after that for some ice cream!) 9.We played with our cousins at the cabin 10.And then played in the tube 11.We swung in the hammock on hot summer evenings... 12.And enjoyed the sunsets on the lake 13.We played with more cousins whom we don't see nearly enough of 14.Then we swam... 15.And swam some more. 16.Then we made our way back home and moved into our new house...and remembered all the fun things we did together. If only these short months could last forever.

A whole month without blogging. What the heck? I know, I know...life has been crazy, let me tell ya! We spent 3 weeks in Montana at the lake with family and had sooooo much fun. Payton and Gabby have become pro-swimmers (with their life-jackets on, heehee!) and I managed to get a tan for the first time since I've had kids. So it was good. Oh, and there were trips to Target, too...so that really just made the whole vacation fabulous. Haha!!

Anyways, now we are home and actually in a home! We moved into our new house on Saturday so I am surrounded by boxes and chaos, but it is all good. I am very excited to be here and get settled in...it'll take some time, but that's okay. We have beds to sleep in, TV's to watch, food to eat...we're set!

I wish I could share more, but for now, here's a quick picture of the girls with there cutie-cousins, Molly and Harry. We always have these grandiose ideas of getting the kids all dressed up and doing a photoshoot and then it always turns out to be nothing but a gong show. Haha!! All the kiddos here are laughing at Nana, and I caught this one right before my memory card ran out of room.

This sweet little girl is 4. FOUR.

I can hardly believe it. I still think of her as my little baby...how is she growing up so fast? (excuse me while I wipe away my tears!)

A few things about Gabby on her special day:

-she is the BEST cuddler. Like, the best. She's so small and she can curl up into the tiniest little bundle...perfect for snugglin'. We love it!

-she is hilairious. I feel like every other day I'm telling yet another funny "Gabby story"...whether she's been naughty or nice, she always makes us laugh!

-her favorite song at bedtime is "Book of Mormon Stories"

-she loves to play outside...in the water, at the park, riding her bike, going for a walk...whatever!

-she is very determined lately...not getting her way can result in major upset! yikes.

-she does NOT like Barbies. She'd much rather play with a flashlight. Or any other random object you can find around the house.

-she loves her sisters! oh, yes, they fight at times...but her sisters are her best friends!!

Happy Birthday, Gabby-Gabbs! We love you sooooooooooo much!!

I've decided to stop feeling guilty about my lack of blogging as of late. It's summer. I'm supposed to be lazy, right? June honestly drained me, and I think I'm still recovering! We've been to visit my hubby's family and the girls got to camp with Grandpa, which was an absolute highlight for them. This week we've been playing outside as much as we can and just takin' it easy. Oh, and I've managed to "Eclipse" in the theatre 3 times now. Hee hee! I have a few shoots to do before we leave for Montana at the beginning of August and little Miss Gabby is turning 4 next week, so lots of fun things to look forward to. Hope your summers have been as wonderfully lazy as mine.

I always have a hard time blogging when I've left it for too long! So I don't even know where to begin with the "catch-up" other than we've moved, we're staying here at my mom and dad's till our new house is ready, and it's over for now! Heehee!

This picture is of our little family in our empty family room that we spent the most of our time in. I admit, I got a little teary-eyed as we were saying goodbye to our house and watching the girls run around in their empty rooms, but it's all good. We are excited for our new house and for all that's to come...and I always say that change is good.

Summer is already in full swing. School is finally over (YAY!!!) and I've already been on a camping trip and back (yes, ME camping!) and we're off to spend the week with Graham's family. I just know that this summer is going to go by too fast, so I'm trying to enjoy it while it lasts! We're nice and settled at my mom's, the girls are having fun being at Nana's, and I'm looking forward to some photoshoots and a bunch of editing that I need to do from last month. So, we are busy but happy!

I'll try to post again soon with some more exciting stuff, but that's all for now!

...because I can't handle their cuteness. And because getting dressed up in your costume and dancing on stage is like, a really big deal.

Oh, and because my blog has been so boring lately. (wink)

I am so lucky to have these two! They are so much fun and are the best big sisters to Kherington. And they have been sooooo patient with me these last few weeks as I've been packing up the house and having constant photoshoots. They are awesome. Actually, sidenote...just this morning as I was working on some pictures Payton asked me, "Mommy, are you still going to be a photographer in the new house?" Haha! I dunno why, I just thought that was so funny!

I am on the homeward stretch to getting this house all packed up. I've been throwing things away, packing things up and organizing like crazy. It is alot of work, but I love the feeling that everything that we're taking to the new house is stuff we actually want and need. No more junk! Feels good. I don't care what anyone says, moving really is the only way to get rid of everything that you don't need. I would never have the energy to clean out every nook and cranny otherwise! So, Tuesday is the big day, and then we'll be staying with my parents until our new house is ready...hopefully sometime in August. Luckily it's summer and we don't have to worry about schedules, we'll just be playin'. So we are all excited.

It was funny, 'cause she's still at the age where they're still supposed to follow their teacher, but you never really know what's going to happen...but she did great and even whipped out a few crazy spins. Loved it!

Just playing around on a Sunday morning...the only time when I don't feel like I should be doing a million other things!

Just a few pictures of Payton in her "Walking on Sunshine" costume. Isn't she sweet? And these photos are very fitting as we're finally getting a little sun around here. I love summer!

I decided to do my own photos of the girls in their costumes this year instead of the lame ones they get taken at the dance studio...love how they turned out, lots more to come! Gabby looks pretty cute in her costume, too. (wink) The girls had their dance recital on Friday night and they were awesome. It always amazes me how these little kids get up on stage with no fear and just go out there and don their thing. It was fun and Graham and I were so very proud of them. (and Kherington, too...she sat in the audience and clapped and shook her little booty the whole time! Haha!!)

Here's a little peek at where we've been living for the past 2 and a half years. In about 2 weeks we're moving out...it's exciting and sad all at the same time!

I'm a little sad looking at all of these pictures. As of this moment we are living in rooms stacked with boxes and empty walls, we had a garage sale this weekend and got rid of LOTS of stuff...so we are busy. We are all excited for the "new house" but like anything, it will take some time getting used to it and making it HOME. But that's the way it goes, right? We thought we would be in this house for a lot longer, but it came down to the location...something else came up and we decided to go for it, so now we're moving! (It's actually been a year in progress so it didn't happen quickly...but now that we're trying to get all packed up, I wish I had more TIME! Hee hee!)

I'll miss this cute house, but it's my cute family that will make any house my home.

Man, I've been busy. Packing up a house is no easy task. Throw on top of that a 1, 3 and 5 year old...well, you get the idea!

Instead of complaining about how busy I am and how I have no time for anything, I thought I'd just post a few random pretty pictures instead. I took a walk with the girls one rare, sunny morning and snapped these pictures...I hope that spring or summer or whatever season it's supposed to be will come to stay SOON!

We are getting very excited for summer and for our "new house". (You know how when you're in the process of moving you talk about the "new house" constantly...haha!) Gabby's done playschool for the year and dancing will be done in a couple weeks...after that I feel like we're home free! I can't wait to get everything packed up and done so we can enjoy our summer and have some fun with no schedules...it'll be good.

Speaking of the moving, I'll have to post some pictures of my current house soon, too. We thought we would be here for longer, but things just worked out in a different way...so it's all good. My corner jacuzzi tub in my new bathroom will make everything okay. (heehee!)

my "little-big" girl...

Today I drove Payton to school.

Well, rewind a little bit...Graham is working out of town for the next couple days, so I was on my own this morning. (I know....gasp!! I had to get the kids ready all by myself!) I've truly come to appreciate the help and the routine that we have when daddy is home in the mornings, so when he isn't around, things can get a little hairy at times.

Anyways, I got everyone up, dressed, hair done, fed and out the door just in time to buckle everyone in their seats and zip to the school before the bell would ring. Over the winter Graham was the one dropping Payton off at school 'cause it was just too darn cold for me to get all three kids in the car, then park the car at school, then get everyone out, trek across the field to the doors, take Payton inside, drop her off, go back outside, trek to the car, get the two little girls back in the car and buckled up...only to do to it again a couple hours later when Payton was done. So you catch my drift...the simple "drop off" at school isn't always so simple.

Back to today. We drove up to the school just seconds before the bell was about to ring. I quickly hopped out the car with Payton, the bell rang, and then the stress for a little kindergartener sets in...heaven forbid we are a couple seconds late! I quickly had to evaluate the situation...do I quickly get the other 2 out of the car and drag all 3 inside the school? Do I run Payton in the school by myself and run back to the car as quickly as I can? Or...do I just let Payton go on her own?

I quickly asked Payton as excitedly as I could if she'd like to go all by herself. Yes, I would stand by the car and watch her till she was safe and sound inside the doors...it was just too far for mommy to leave her sisters in the car alone. So I got a quick hug, and off my big girl ran across the field to the "kindergarten doors"...all by herself.

As I watched her run all by herself across the field, a wave of emotions swept over me. Pride that my big girl was brave enough to go all that way, sadness that she doesn't need her mama all the time anymore and the realization that my "big girl" really is still...little. Tears filled my eyes as I watched my tiny little girl run...her backpack so huge it was falling off her shoulders, the big kids all zipping ahead of her in no time at all, her silver shoes sparkling in the morning sun, and the few breaks she had to take from running. It was heartbreaking and endearing all at the same time.

I waited till she made it inside and got back into the car with Gabby and KK. Mommy-guilt rushed over me as I told myself I will never make her go inside by herself again...as frustrating and time consuming as it is, I'll get the other 2 out and take her to classroom. But then...I was happy for her. And I knew that this is one of those times where I have to begin to let go. I have to let her be a "big girl" and do things all on her own...even if I want to be at her side always.

When I picked her up from school she was as happy as could be. She, of course, had probably not given a second thought to the fact that I deserted her earlier that day. In her mind, she is a big girl! And in many ways, yes she is.

But to me...she is still little. She is my baby. And she always will be.

We've been together for 9 years. Nine.

Last Tuesday was our anniversary and we promised eachother no gifts. But when Graham got home from work, he came with these.

(And, okay I admit it...I was kind of expecting the flowers. I knew Graham wouldn't let an anniversary come and go without flowers!)

But I was NOT expecting these.

Oh, my hubby knows me so well. Yes, ladies...he went to Anthropologie and picked these out all by himself. How awesome is he?

Actually, it was really cute...we went to Earl's for dinner so I could have my favorite salad (the Santa Fe chicken salad...to die for!) and he left the table to make a "phone call"...and back he came with a cute little box and these pretties inside. I was honestly so surprised! Then I surprised him with him a card (I know, how lame am I...I get flowers and necklaces and he gets a card...but he was happy! I had made a really big deal of how I didn't even get him a card!). Anyways, we laughed and laughed at our little surprises for eachother...our anniversary honestly crept up on us out of nowhere, so it was these simple gestures that just made it so much fun.

Look what Kherington was up to yesterday! She decided it was time to walk...and now she's taken off!

Payton ran up to me yesterday afternoon and told me (very excitedly) that KK was indeed, walking...so out I ran to catch her in action. It was so exciting and so cute. The girls and I just laughed and cheered her on as she figured out (finally!) how to do this walking thing. I am so proud of my little babe! I'm glad she's so tiny...walking or not, she's still my baby!

It was an exciting day.
