more pics and something BIG...

So I just wanted to share some more pictures from our photo shoot with Rebecca. I can't believe this was already a whole month ago!! Really, time is going by too quickly for me lately. Anyways, there are sooooo many photos that I love....I had a hard time picking which ones to share so I decided to choose a bunch!!

I should tell the story about the balloons...I thought I had this *great* idea to get some pictures with Payton holding the balloons...I totally ordered them ahead of time and we went and picked them up in the morning...
only of course the wind started blowing every time we tried a take a picture...
so we took a few and then thought we would just wait until our next location (the turquoise building) to take some more...
and as we were buckling Payton into her carseat...
they blew up, up and away!

I should have known!

But we did get a couple cute ones anyways!!!

So thank you, Rebecca for the fun morning and the amazing photos...I can't wait to play with them!

Now, onto my something BIG....

You all know that I've been on a little *break* from bloggin'....(and I have to say, I've missed it!)

I'm very excited to share with everyone that I've been busy developing a class for Big Picture Scrapbooking!!!

It has been ALOT of work, but I finally finished everything up last night and I'm hoping the class will launch by the end of June or beginning of July. I can't wait to see the virtual classroom....whew. It has been a crazy month!! I don't want to give too much away yet, but I can say that it involves "babies"....but don't feel left out if you don't have one, anyone can do the project and you'll be able to hear all about it!! So if you've never tried out an online scrapbooking class, maybe this can be your first. I've been taking Heidi Swapp's "A Year to Remember" class this year and it is so awesome to sit in my jammies in front of the computer, and hear her ideas and do the class WHENEVER I have the time. That is what is so awesome about Big Picture Scrapbooking...you can fit it into your life whenever it is convienient for you! So, if you're registered with Big Picture, you should be getting an email in your inbox within the next few weeks or so about my class. Yay!!!

So now I am just enjoying the fact that my work is done (although it was awesome to do!) and I can just do whatever for a little while...my house is clean, the girls are asleep, I changed the sheets on my bed, the laundry is in the wash (and I even got some folded! Imagine that!)...I am doing some major catching up. I can't wait to get scrapbooking again, I really have been itching to play with my stuff!!

Kay, enough blabbing from me...

Have a great weekend!!

P.S There's a new challenge up at The Goodie Box! Check it out!!

another photo shoot

So, I haven't decided if I am officially back from my "break" yet, but I just had to share these pictures. We went to Graham's parents last week and did a photo shoot of all 9 cousins. Needless to say, it was hilarious. Well, I don't know how funny we all thought it was at the time (come on, you get stressed when your kid is freaking out) but looking at the pictures now, they are so funny on so many different levels. Holy cow. 9 kids under the age of 7...we were guaranteed to have a few tears!

From left to right we have Gabby, Payton, Jack, Mya, Kedan, Osh, Tagg, Berkely and Forrest. Look at how cute and happy all these kids are! Haha!! Here are a few more...

I love how Tagg has decided he's done and is taking off in this picture...

And here we have the 3 older girls...

Grandma and Grandpa thought that some freezies would make them all happy...worked for some of the older ones, but look at Gabby and Osh! They both hated the feel of the grass on their feet...so cute! They were both very sad, their tears are cracking me up. Poor babies!

And last but not least, I got some video of the occasion. I love family photo shoots!!

taking a break

Hey Everyone!

Just thought I'd let you all know that I'm going to take a little break from blogging...I have something that I'm working on that needs to get done...and the computer is just too dang tempting! hehe! I can't wait to share it with you all...

If you haven't been over to the Goodie Box lately, please go and check it out! The deadline for our 2nd challenge is Sunday and we'd love to see some more submissions. This month the winner gets a Heidi Swapp butterfly mask, Making Memories foam stamps, paint, specialty glaze and some sponge applicators to use for the paint...very fun. Kim just shared a super cute idea for your baby's crib and I altered a clock with a favorite family picture...go take a look and play along with us! We have some awesome stuff lined up for the next couple months, too...you won't want to miss out!!

So, I'll be back in a couple weeks unless I absolutely can't deny the urge to blog!

See you soon!

a little of this and that...

I just thought I'd try and do some catching up. Gray has been away for most of the week dirt biking so I've been on my own with the girls. Well, I really shouldn't say "on my own"...what the heck would I do with grandma's and grandpa's??? My parents are so great about helping me out...and Payton is an angel for them (not so much for me! hehe!) so she loves to go to their house. So much that the second I walk in the door she's folding her arms across her chest and refuses to look at me. Sheesh. Don't you remember as a kid just loving going to your grandparents, though? They were always more fun than mom and dad! Haha! So anyways, that's what we've been up to this week. Gabby and I are getting sick so we're just taking it easy today...and Gray gets home tomorrow so we are very excited!! (and I'm sure my parents are, too....wink!)

Anyways, just thought I'd share some "everyday" stuff....

This is what happens when you leave your baby with your 2 year old while blogging:

...and here are the girls and I on Mother's Day:

...a happy baby in her high chair:

...a not-so-happy baby after her nap:

...and last but not least, my girls playing around in their undies...

It seems like no matter what I do, the girls ALWAYS end up in their t-shirts and undies by the end of the day. Why wear clothes when you can just run around with nothing on, right? Cracks me up. Really, whatever makes them happy makes me happy. They are starting to totally love playing with each other. And you can see how Gabby is standing up against the wall...she scales the walls...she doesn't need something to hold on to if she wants to walk around...the wall is good enough. Pretty good for only 9 months! It just surprises me 'cause Payton didn't crawl till 10 and a half months, so I'm not used to this "getting around" so soon. She is very determined. My busy girls!!

Anyways, last weekend was fun, too. I'll be sure to share the pictures from our photo shoot as soon as I get them. I can't wait! It'll definatley be interesting to see how they turned out...by the end, both girls were screaming their heads off, so that just gives you an idea of how it went! Haha!! Rebecca was awesome, though...totally patient and sweet. Made me feel better that she has kids and knows what it's like. If I get one good picture of the four of us I'll be happy!!

Have a good long weekend!!

the scowl

Okay, so this is Gabby's latest face....the scowl.

And it totally cracks me up.

She is like, the happiest little baby but when she's ticked off....watch out. Haha!! Actually, the funny thing is, she will be as happy as can be and then out of nowhere, she just GLARES at us. It is so funny. Had to share.

today...

This is what my desk looks like today... I am so so busy as usual...what's new, right? We are heading out of town tomorrow for a little weekend away. First on the agenda is a photo shoot with this amazing photographer. I am so excited to meet her and to hopefully get some good pictures of my little family. After that we're heading to Graham's parents so the girls can play with grandma and grandpa and so Gray can dirt-bike. I'm looking forward to our little road trip but it's always such a feat to get packed up and ready to go. Some of the things on my list that I want to make sure I don't forget are:
-diapers
-formula
-sippy cups
-bottles
-dvd's
-a new toy to bribe Payton with (ie. "If you smile pretty you get a new toy!!)
-play pen
-snacks for the drive
-etc,etc,etc!
Every five minutes I think of something else that I need to bring and then five minutes after that I've already forgotten what I was thinking about. AAhh!!

For Mother's day, my husband was assigned to be in charge of the Mother's Day "gift" at church...so of course I had to come up with something! It was fun to do though, I really didn't mind. I love Mother's Day....I think ALL women should be celebrated, not just mother's....every woman has something special about her and something to GIVE. So for our little "gift" I used various quotes from the "She" book by Kobi Yamada. I think these statements are so powerful, and they can apply to all types of women. My sister came over yesterday and we filled all the boxes with kisses (chocolate ones, not real ones!) and tied all the tags on. I hope everyone enjoys them!! These are some of my favorite statements from the book:
"She loved life and it loved her right back."
"She listened to her heart above all the other voices."
"She just had this way of brightening the day."
"She walked in when everyone else walked out."

"She made the whole world feel like home."
"She decided to enjoy more and endure less."
"She woke up one day and threw away all her excuses."

"She discovered that SHE was the one she'd been waiting for."

Really, I could go one forever. This book is amazing. If you don't have it, it's definately worth it and something you will read over and over again. Everytime I read it I think about all of the amazing "she's" in my life...I love it!
I quickly made these Mother's Day cards last night...I got the little stickers at Walmart in the cards section. I don't use purple very much so that was fun. I hope everyone has a fun weekend and a good Mother's day...make sure you do something special for that "she" in your life. She doesn't have to be a mama to be celebrated, but if she is, then even more the reason to spoil her!! And I almost forgot...our second challenge is up over at the Goodie Box! It's a fun one, I can't wait to see what you all come up with...please play along with us!!

And last but not least...Donna W, I'm still waiting to hear from ya! Email me your mailing address to thescrapchick@hotmail.com so I can get this stuff out to you!!

Happy Scrapping Day!

To all of you scrapbookers out there...Happy National Scrapbooking Day! I just realised yesterday that today was NSD, so I thought I'd have a little fun on my blog. Now I know you're all probably like, okay, enough with the "party" pictures already, but I couldn't help it...I had to make something with them. So I made this mini chipboard album. For fun, I thought I'd share with you some step-by-step instructions...kinda like a "make and take" for anyone who's up to it. Also, my gallery is being featured on Two Peas today, so that's kind of exciting. I've posted some new stuff in there if you want to take a look!!

So here is what you'll need to make this little album:

-a 3x3" chipboard album (mine is Creative Imaginations)
-patterned paper (KI memories)
-8 photos, measuring 3x3"
-felt flower trim (Queen & Co)
-ribbon
-gluestick
-brayer
-sandpaper
-paper trimmer
-glue gun

Before I get started with the instructions, notice how I added my "journaling" directly onto my photos before I printed them. I wanted this to be as fast and as easy as possible. I also added a little digital brush element (these ones I used are by Rhonna Farrer) to each picture. So let's get going!

1. Trim all 8 of your photos, as well as your front and back "covers" so they measure 3"x3".

2. Using a gluestick, glue your photos onto each inner page of the chipboard album. (Note: With each picture, as soon as you've positioned it in the album, immediately roll over the picture with a brayer about 5 or 6 times so the picture is really stuck to the chipboard.)

3. Sand all of the edges of your photos. I like sanding 'cause to me it just gives it a nice "finished" look.

4. Now, glue on the front and back covers of your album, following the same intructions as in step 3. (I also glued on a little strip of paper to the spine so all the chipboard is covered.)

5. Sand the edges of the front and back cover.

6. Now, cut a piece of the Queen and Co. felt trim so it measures about 2.5" long. (This stuff is awesome to work with...nice and sturdy, not flimsy at all.) I glued my trim on to the front and back covers with a glue gun (just a few dots of glue here and there) so it would really be stuck. I didn't use any glue on the spine of the album...I wanted the trim to be "away" from the album a bit, I thought it looked cute. (Note: the glue will dry super fast, so work quickly!)

7. Lastly, just thread some ribbon through the felt trim and tie in knots! You're done!!

And I couldn't let NSD pass by without doing a little giveaway....

So post a comment by Monday night and on Tuesday morning I'll draw a winner!!

Happy Scrappin'!!

my little party

So as promised, I wanted to share some pictures from my little party last week. It was so much fun to decorate and have Kim and Adria over. And Payton was a guest of honor as well (believe me, I would have been in major trouble if she wasn't a main part of this party! hehe!!). Ikea is like, the one stop party shop. I got everything there...the table cloths, the placemats, the napkins, even the plates!! They were only 75 cents each! I think I need to go back and buy some more. I went with the pink and red theme (I told you, I'm diggin' the red lately) and I love how it turned out. The flowers were my favorite. It was just a girly and fun afternoon. We had chicken caesar salad, breadsticks, cheese dip....and then yummy strawberries and jello and whipped cream for dessert. We were very full after all was said and done! And then I gave all the girls a little lip gloss for fun. It was just so nice to plan a little something for my friends and have the chance to serve them. We always just go "out" to eat, and I loved the change in atmosphere and it meant that Adria got play with our kids, too. Oh, and I also wanted to mention...you can see how each person's name card is UNDER the plate...when I was setting the table I couldn't quite figure out how to prop the name cards up...and Gray was walking by and was like, "just put them underneath the plates"...and look how stinkin' cute it looks!! So that was totally Gray's idea and it ended up being my favorite thing about the table. Besides the flowers. (hehe) How awesome is my hubby for coming up with that creative little idea?? Love him. So...go and throw a little lunch party, everyone! I promise you'll enjoy it.
