pictures and projects

Well, good weather is finally here and I am officially becoming a crappy blogger! That always happens in the spring and summer for me...I have a hard time focusing and making myself do things...it's much more fun to be outside with my kids!

I've been wanting to share this little mini album that I did at our scrapbook night in June...it is 100% inspired by Kim's project that she did at the Goodie Box last month...when I saw it, I had to make one for myself, and I thought it worked perfectly for Payton's birthday pictures. Thanks, Kimmy!

(You can see the rest of the album here.)

And another simple page that I did a while back...nothing too exciting, but I least I got the memory in my scrapbook, right?

And some pictures that I snapped of the girls today...man, that Gabby is a hard one to take pictures of! She was running away from me the entire time...just wanted to play!

Off to put the kids to bed...this day has flown by. Whew!

all done

So, after a loooong week (and a bit) our floors are done. The carpet, too. I had to take a picture this morning while everything was clean and swept and vaccumed...just to prove that once in a blue moon my house is clean. (even if it only last for a few minutes!) I love how they turned out. I had it in my head that I wanted dark floors and I'm so glad we went with it. And the carpet is soooo awesome...just totally soft and comfy. I love it!! The house feels totally different now. It's definately starting to feel more like "us"...moving is such a long process. We've been here for 6 months, and it's just been the past couple that this has felt like "home". So I'm happy.

And a new addition to my kitchen:

I found these jars at Walmart and had to get them, even though I had no idea what I was going to do with them. So yesterday I filled them with (fake) fruit, and voila! A new kitchen decoration. I love the bright colors and the black lids.

So, I'm hoping life will get back to normal now that all of this house stuff is done and over with. I just don't do well when my house is a disaster, so I think this afternoon I'll just recover by taking a nap (heehee). We'll see if the kids let me. I'm sure they won't, but it's worth a shot!

Wish me luck!!

reads

So it's Saturday night, 10pm and I can't bring myself to do anything except waste time on the computer...I wish I could bring myself to scrapbook but my room's a mess and I don't have the energy to clean it. Messiness really sucks the creativity out of me.

However, I AM reading this book right now. If you're a fan of the "Twilight" series, then get your hands on this one! I'm just at the beginning, but LOVING it so far. Love, love, love it.

Oh, and go here to see a movie trailer for "Twilight"...Karly, we are SO waiting in line for this movie and watching it on opening night! I can't wait!!!!

(Did you guess that I loooove the Twilight series?)

surprised?

So...

Is anyone as surprised as I was last night when David Cook won American Idol? I thought for sure that David Archuleta had it in the bag...but you never know I guess! This was the first year that I loved both in the final 2...so I was happy either way. I thought that based on Tuesday's performances, Archuleta deserved to win...but Cook was awesome all season, so I knew it could have gone either way. And I didn't realize how large David Cook's following was, it just always seemed like people were going crazy over Archuleta! I DO think that David Cook was a very gracious winner...you can tell he loved little Archuleta...I thought he was really sweet when he won. Clive Davis would be crazy not to sign David Archuleta as well...I love the "Davids"...haha! It's funny how hooked I get on these shows. I've already discussed all of this in detail with my husband (who cared soooooo much), my sister Karly, and Kim. This is very serious stuff. Haha!

So anyways, that's my 2 cents on American Idol, and I'd love to hear YOUR two cents, too! So post away. And guess what...it begins tonight all over again with "So You Think You Can Dance". Yippee!!!

And speaking of dancing, some more pictures of Payton's dress rehearsal last weekend:

It's another rainy day here so we're stuck in the house today. AND this is the second day in a row that our flooring guy hasn't showed up. AArrrgghh! I just DO NOT do well when my house is a disaster. Graham keeps telling me to stop being such a "girl" about it, but I can't help it! I want my floors done so I can clean up all the sawdust and walk in my kitchen!

Anyways...off to entertain the kiddies somehow. Later!

what we've been up to...

Well, it's finally spring and we've been busy, busy, busy! Graham was out of town last week on a biking trip (hence the lack of posts), so I thought I'd do a little update.

Here is Payton all dressed up for her dress rehearsal for her "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" dance. She looked so cute! I love the studio we go to 'cause they're really great at making a "big deal" of all the pre-schoolers. They have their dress rehearsal, plus they do a community performance as well as their year-end recital. It's nice for us parents to be able to see them "perform" more than once throughout the year...it's fun for the kids, plus we get our money's worth (we always like that!). So here's my little beauty:

And just a few more pics of my little Gabby. Can I just say how BUSY this child keeps us? She is just soooo different from Payton. She's rough and tough and is ALWAYS a disaster. I've accepted that as soon as I get her ready, she'll be a mess with her hair pulled out and a stain on her shirt within minutes.

But....she is the BEST little cuddler. So willing to give hugs and loves at all times. She would much rather sit on your lap and cuddle with her blankie than play. Oh, and she's obsessed with the keyboard on the computer. Don't leave her alone when there's a computer around! (hehe!)

What else...today was such a busy day. We worked on the yard all day...I planted some flowers, which I've been dying to do, and the girls just had so much fun playing in the backyard and "helping" Graham and I. (read: spraying everything in sight with water and eating dirt.) We're trying to get our yard all cleaned up and fixed up...the people who lived in this house before us did some ridiculous things with the landscaping. I just like yards to be clean and simple...it's so much work to maintain them as it is, I don't need a bunch of extra bushes and piles and plants everywhere, too. Is anybody with me on that?

Kim and I thought we were so smart and had the kids play in Kim's kiddie pool in her backyard on Saturday afternoon...they had a blast for about a half hour and after that they just wanted to play with the toys inside. We thought for sure they'd be happy out there for a good hour or so at least...ha ha! Kinda hard to plan (or assume) anything with two one-year-olds and a three-year-old...but they still had fun.

Graham also ripped out all of our laminate flooring today 'cause we're getting new stuff put in tomorrow...I can't wait! I've been wanting this since we moved in...I'm excited to see the final result.

Other than that, life is just going on as usual. I've been keeping myself busy organizing photos and old scrapbook pages...I'll need to do a separate post on that soon. It's been fun to go through old photos and memories...*sigh*...time goes by so quickly!!

Have a great day, I'll be back soon!

just for fun...

...i've added a little "scrapbook album" in my sidebar.

Just a home for all of my pages and projects. I can't keep up with all the galleries out there, so I thought I'd set something up right here on the ole' blog. I'll still be posting pages and projects here, of course, but everything will eventually end up in my album, too, so that it's easy to find and browse.

Take a peek now and then!

(And how excited are we that the 2 David's made it to the finale on American Idol??!! Yay!! And "So You Think You Can Dance" starts in 2 weeks...I can't contain myself!)

crib love

This was totally random.

Today, for whatever reason, after Gabby woke up from her nap, she wouldn't let me take her out of her crib. This NEVER happens. Whenever she wakes up she always wants to get out of that thing immediately. So I was quite surprised. I gave her some books and a few toys and she was just as happy as could be in there!

I love it! Something different today.

Here is Payton's circle album, just like the one I made of Gabby over at the Goodie Box today!

For those of you who haven't been following the Goodie Box this month, Kim and I have been sharing videos and projects everyday featuring some of our favorite scrapbooking stuff on the market right now. Come on over and have a peek at what we've been up to!!

Have a great day!

bored.

That is the word to explain how I've been feeling the past couple days. Don't know what it is...I'm just bored.

Gabby's had a bit of a fever today so we haven't been able to go out at all today...I find my days go better (or, I feel like I've accomplished something) if we get out of the house in the mornings, and then Payton and I chill while Gabby sleeps in the afternoon. But today has been boring. Poor Gabbs is burning up, but Payton has been such a great big sister. Really. Totally helping me out, and she plays SO NICELY by herself while Gabby naps...honestly, I don't know who she's talking to, but girl talks to SOMEONE while she plays...it is hillairious. I should try to get it on video sometime.

Anyways, just thought I'd share another page that I did a couple weeks ago. Another simple one.

On a happy note, I DID get my hands on some of the new Heidi Swapp stuff the other day...made me very happy.

Okay, the little rascals are callin' me, gotta run!

Happy Scrapping Day!

Since it's National Scrapbooking Day today I thought I'd share some more pages I've recently done...

(For this layout, I took the title and journaling right from my blog...I need to do this more often! So easy!)

Hope everyone's having a fun NSD! Make sure you go to the Goodie Box today, too...we'll have videos for the next 12 days!
