the weekend with Heidi...

Well, Heidi has come and gone and I have to say, this weekend was fabulous! It was jam-packed and busy, but oh, so fun. Heidi is awesome...so down to earth, yet so very inspiring...I know everyone who attended her event on Saturday would say the same thing!

Her classes were great on Saturday...everyone received these stinkin' cute House of 3 bags with their kits inside which were full of tons of stuff. And the classes rocked. I loved the vibe of the whole day...it was totally laid-back, yet everyone was working and got lots done on their projects. I can't wait to get going on mine! My favorite part of the day, though, was the very end when Heidi shared with us about House of 3 and just other fun stuff regarding blogs, scrapbooking, photoshop, photography and more...I wish everyone had stayed for that part 'cause we somehow all ended up in tears, and once again, just inspired and happy and full of positive energy. Crazy women we are!

One of my favorite things about scrapbooking events and workshops is just connecting with other women who love this hobby as much as I do. It was so fun to see old and new faces, to catch up with old friends and meet new ones. It was awesome, ladies! I definately needed this weekend...Graham and my mama and my sister all helped me with my kids so that I could be there on Saturday and hang out with Heidi, so thank you so much for that...as always, what would I do without you guys?

To sum it all up, I'm just feeling totally inspired and ready to go...I want to get scrapbooking again...it is time. This weekend was just great all-around. Church was so good on Sunday...my kids were actually quiet during sacrament meeting and I was able to listen to the talks and the spirit was so strong...it was a good day. Kim, Heidi and I also seemed to go from one deep conversation to the next. Left me with lots of things to ponder and think about. It was so great to hang with Heidi and get to know her better...it was just such a great weekend!

I just finished uploading a ton of pictures to my computer and I now I am so overwhelmed. So much has been happening over the past few weeks with my girls, and I'm sad that I haven't been blogging about it all. Hopefully I'll find the time to be a little more with it...so much to share.

But for now, I'm off to bed!

it's midnight...

...and I'm trying to edit photos, but there are just too many. This one is cute, so I thought I'd share. My sweet little babe after a bath. I had her sitting on my lap in the rocking chair, and Payton and Gabby were crawling all over me as I took this picture. Funny how you remember what was going on behind the camera as you look at certain pictures.

Time for bed.

i *heart* banff!

For the long weekend Graham and I took the girls to Banff and we had such a good time...I love Banff! I have so many fun memories there and haven't been there in a long time, so it was fun to take a little trip as a family. The girls had a blast, and we packed alot in to the couple days we were there...swimming, eating, shopping in town, waterslides, taking the gondola up to the top of the mountain (this was a highlight!) and just hanging out at the hotel. They LOVE hotels. Really, Graham and I could just get a hotel room in Edmonton and they would think we're on a trip!

Anyways, here are a few pictures...

(Kherington spent most of the weekend hidden in the snugli...it was a bit chilly, and she loved being cuddled up tight!)

We weren't sure the weather would be that great...as we were driving in to Banff on Thursday it was a full-on blizzard! (gotta love Canadian weather!) So winter wonderlandy in fact, that Payton was singing "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" in the back seat. Haha! But it warmed up and we had a great time. On the way home we stopped at the track and watched Graham dirt-bike. It was fun. The girls thought it was great to just run around and get dirty and I was excited to see Gray do what he loves to do. Last summer I was so sick that I didn't see him bike much at all, so this was good.

Today was spent cleaning around the house...I have a big "spring cleaning" to-do list that I want to get going on. It may not feel very springy right now (WHERE is the nice weather???) but it's time to get crackin'. So far we've cleaned out and tidied the toys in the basement and in the girls bedroom...that was a big job. Next I'll be tackling closets and cupboards.

Let the cleaning begin!

2 months old

(the cuteness in these pictures are thanks to Kherington's grandma's...my mom made the quilt and my mother-in-law got the cute little tutu-diaper cover somewhere in the states...I don't know where, sorry!)

How can she be two months old already??

This little babe is just so cute and so fun and so awesome...we love her.

Sorry I am such a lame blogger. Wish I could be around more, but you know how life gets. Just too darn busy and full of stuff to do. I'm looking forward to school and dancing being done within the next few weeks so I can have my mornings free...and focus on getting Gabby potty-trained! I'm so excited for nice weather and summertime...I can't wait! We're off tomorrow for a little family getaway to Banff for the long weekend, but before I go I just wanted to mention that there are still a few spots available for Heidi's day of classes here in Edmonton. I just talked to her today and she's super excited to come and there's lots in store. So come if you can make it!

(UPDATED: See some sneak peeks of Heidi's kits here! Soooo much stuff!)

Have a happy weekend!

to montana and back

Well, it's already Wednesday and I'm just making it to the computer for the weekend report. Sheesh! We went down for a quick trip to Montana this weekend for my dear friends wedding, and we had such a good time. Janell looked gorgeous and her wedding was so much fun. I was glad to have a little getaway and the girls were great. Kherington slept through the night the whole time we were away, so I was a happy mama!

Here are a few shots...

Payton and Gabby had so much fun at the dance...they just danced the night away! Even Gray and I made it on to the dance floor, so it was fun. Our first little trip as a family of five. Graham and I had to laugh, 'cause one morning as we were leaving the hotel the person working at the front desk said, "Wow, you guys sure are a big family!" So I guess we've graduated from being a small family to a big one...who would've thought?

And a trip down to the states wouldn't have been complete without shopping at Target. I love that store! I was just going to say that I wish we had them here, but then it wouldn't be fun, right? So I suppose Target can stay out of Canada for the time being.

:)

And yes, no pictures of Kherington...I decided to pick my battles when it came to photo-ops, and trying to get the three girls in a picture together at the wedding was just something I wasn't willing to do in front of a bunch of wedding guests. But she looked cute, I promise!

Okay, off to feed the baby and then time to figure out what we're having for dinner. Hopefully I'll be back soon!

giveaway!

(image borrowed from Heidi's blog)

I just had to make sure everyone in the Edmonton area knows about the awesome giveaway that Heidi's doing on her blog right now. She's giving away 2 spots to her Edmonton day of classes on May the 30th, so go to her blog now and enter to win! How cool is that?

I have to say, I am so excited for Heidi to come and teach. For anyone who is on the fence about signing up, trust me, it's going to be so much fun. The above image is a little peek at some of the things she'll be teaching...it's going to be awesome! You can read here for more details, and here to register...maybe it can be your Mother's Day gift! (what's better than a whole day of uninterrupted scrapbooking?)

Hope to see you there, it's only a month away!!

9 months mini

scrapbook share #5...

(supplies: patterned paper: Basic Grey; ghost butterflies, journaling spots: Heidi Swapp; negative frames and words: downloaded from House of 3 and printed on to transparency; other: lace, glitter, tulle)

After my husband did a little photo shoot of my preggo tummy, I figured I'd better do something fun with the photos. I actually just printed a bunch of photos randomly with no plan in mind, and ended up doing this little mini with these small pictures. ( I think this album measures about 6.5 x 3.5") Just simple and easy! I love all of the downloadable products at House of 3...it's fun 'cause you can just print them as-is onto transparency sheets like I did here, and you have instant, clear accents. Oh, I feel like such a digital scrapper! Haha! (or, I guess I should say "hybrid"!)

and...

Since this is my last day this week of sharing scrapbook stuff, I have a little bonus project as well...

(supplies:Heidi Swapp!)

Okay, so this is my attempt at "boy"! And I have to say, it was fuuuuuun to play with all this stuff and venture away from my pink. It's all new territory, I tell ya! Anyways, Graham and I celebrated our 8th anniversary on Monday, so of course I had to make him a card. Another good excuse for a scrapbook page! Nothing new and crazy here...I just wanted to use different pictures of us over the years, and of course, the hidden letter just for him. Love how it turned out, and he did, too. (smile) And just a side note, we kept our anniversary very low-key...I gave him this card, he brought me home a gorgeous bouquet of some of the cutest flowers I've ever seen, and we went out for dinner, just the 2 of us. We even managed to leave Kherington with my sister and niece, so it was perfect.

Thanks for visiting me this week, it's been nice to be thinking about scrapbooking again. Time to get going on some stuff for Kherington!!

just so you know (gabby)

My fourth scrapbook share...(man, I can't believe I am staying on top of this!)

(supplies: felt shapes: KI Memories; flower trim: Doodlebug; ribbon: Making Memories; everything else: Heidi Swapp)

Here's Gabby's layout that I did for her before the baby was born. I absolutely love the cobalt blue chipboard letters lately...a totally different color for me. So much fun! Again, an envelope with the hidden journaling. When I like something, I just do it over and over again!! Someone had asked if I put these pages in regular protectors and the answer is yes. Since the journaling isn't for everyone to see, I figured that you don't need easy access to read it...and when Gabby wants to read it, she can just slip the page out of the protector and open her envelope! Also, I've talked about this before, but I'm really into doing similar layouts for my girls lately. If you have a good idea, or if you do a layout that you love, just whip one up for all of your kids! A good idea can go a long way. It's so much easier for me to scrapbook two similar layouts than to be thinking of new ideas from scratch. So go ahead and re-create your fave layouts!!

Thanks for coming by, and tomorrow's my last day to share!!
